It's World Read Aloud Day

Happy World Read Aloud Day–a global day for celebrating the value of sharing stories aloud and empowering kids and teens to explore the world of reading. I read my own stories to you guys all the time, though, so today I've decided to share one of my favorites by someone else. This reading comes from Cautionary Tales for Children, a collection of verses by H. Belloc from 1907. You can read the whole thing at Project Gutenberg, by the way, and it's awesome

Be sure to check out the one where a kid burns to death for lying. Oof.

From this treasure trove, I've selected the tragic tale of:

"A Lion sprang and hungrily began to eat the boy, beginning at his feet."

I hope you'll take the opportunity to read a story to a kid in your life today, too. They'll love it. You'll love it. Maybe not this story, but...

Or maybe?

Your choice, just... go read to someone. ;-)
